Who we are
We’re a widely published team of event photographers and videographers working under the leadership of David Lasker and Alan Martin. In 2026, David won a National Trust for Canada Historic Places Days Photography Competition award for his photography at Fortress of Louisbourg in Nova Scotia. He has also won awards from Travel Media Association of Canada for Best Evocation of a Place: Dark Sky Festival, Jasper, Alberta (Zoomer); and North American Travel Journalists Association for Portrait, People: Hans Staud, Vienna's Marmalade King (Toronto Star) and Location: Occidental Royal Hideaway, Playacar, Mexico (Cruise and Travel Lifestyles). Alan Martin studied at Langara College in Vancouver, where he acquired a comprehensive knowledge of photographic lighting and mechanics. In Toronto, he opened Refraction Arts Studio and School, shooting for clients ranging from fashion to product and teaching many of today's well-known photographers. Our photography has been published in Architizer, Award (cover), Building, Canadian Architect, Canadian Geographic, Canadian Interiors, Ensemble Vacations, Ensemble Weddings, Interior Design, Metropolis, National Post (Post Homes section cover), Officeinsight, Ottawa Citizen, Retrofit (cover), The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star (Real Estate section cover), Zoomer and other periodicals; and in advertisements, brochures and catalogues for Peerless lighting, Borgo Contract Seating, Focus Wine Cellars, Forest Hill Optical, State of New Hampshire Travel and Tourism Development, Ven‐Rez Products, Wightman Telecom, Wilsonart and other clients.
